Located west of Philadelphia in Chester County, Exton is centered at Routes 30 and 100. Nearby communities are West Chester, Downingtown, Chester Springs and Malvern.

It includes three townships: West Whiteland Township, Uwchlan Township, and East Whiteland Township.

For housing, 65% are owner occupied and 35% are rentals. The average commute time is 25 minutes.

EXTON SCHOOLS

Residents of Exton attend three school districts depending on the home’s location – Downingtown Area School District, Great Valley School District and West Chester Area School District.

Downingtown Area School District has two high schools – Downingtown HS East Campus and Downingtown HS West Campus, two middle schools – Downingtown MS and Lionville MS, a sixth grade center and ten elementary schools – Beaver Creek, East Ward, Lionville, Pickering Valley, Shamona Creek,  and Uwchlan Hills Elementary Schools.   The Downingtown Area School District includes a STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Math) Academy as well as a Cyber Academy and Center for Arts and Technology – Pickering.  Also serving Exton are St. Joseph School and Bishop Shanahan High School, St. Elizabeth Parish School, Sts. Philip and James Elementary School,  Achievement House Cyber Charter School, 21st Century Charter School, The Church Farm School, Kanner Learning Center, Regina Luminus Academy, Step by Step Children’s House, Mission for Educating Children with Autism, Just Children, Devereux Day School, Devereux Brandywine, Creative Kids Learning Centers, Collegium Charter School, Beth Israel Kindergarten,  Windsor Christian Academy, West Chester School of Barbering, and Camphill Special School, Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School, Great Beginnings Christian Kindergarten,

Homes in West Whiteland Township are served by the West Chester Area School District are Mary C. Howse Elementary School, Exton Elementary School, E.N. Peirce Middle School and Henderson High School.  Homes in East Whiteland attend the Great Valley School District: Great Valley High School, Great Valley Middle School and K. D. Markley Elementary School.

The school district information can be incorrect in MLS listings. Also, district boundaries commonly wind through the neighborhoods. Thus, if you are considering a move to the Exton area, please be sure to VERIFY the schools yourself before entering into an Agreement of Sale.
